Education is the fuel for the future. Medicine is an ever changing dynamic environment which requires a high degree of respect. As changes in medicine evolve, it is up to the medical profession to keep current to these never ending changes. Doctors, Paramedics, Nurses, EMT-Bs, EMD's and Medical First Responders are all held accountable for evolving with research, new developments, and changes expected in our health care system.

Bulverde Spring Branch EMS prides itself as a leader in primary training, continued education, staff training, and quality assurance in order to keep abreast to the dynamics of pre-hospital care. In conjunction with the EMS Medical Director and the Education Medical Director, Bulverde Spring Branch EMS hosts basic and advanced training every month. Continued on the job training at Bulverde Spring Branch EMS updates experienced practitioners in many specialty classes such as ACLS, BTLS, PALS, and special resuscitation techniques. Ongoing audit of these skills is a regular process performed by our Quality Improvement Division.

External courses like our Online EMT Basic Course and CPR/First Aid Driver Program have become icons of integrated patient care. By training rural firefighters in primary patient care, they are able to perform certain life saving measures before an ambulance arrives. Ongoing team updates are necessary for teams to keep current with their skills in the event of an emergency.

Browse through these pages to learn more about the Basic and Advanced Programs, the First Responder Program, our staff development portfolio, and the external courses available through our organization.
